GFRIEND Makes Triumphant Return for 10th Anniversary, Tops Korean Charts

K-pop girl group GFRIEND has made a successful comeback celebrating their 10th anniversary, with their special album 'Season of Memories' reaching #1 on Hanteo Chart, one of Korea's main album sales tracking platforms, on its release day January 13.
The group, consisting of members Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji, has particularly impressed fans and industry observers with this reunion, as it marks their first group activity since previously going separate ways. Their title track "Season of Memories," pre-released on January 6, has shown strong performance on Korean music charts, reaching #7 on the Bugs Real-time Chart.
GFRIEND's enduring popularity is evident in their recent media appearances. Their episode of "Killing Voice" on Dingo Music's YouTube channel has become the third most-viewed video on the channel in 2024, despite being released in late 2023. Additionally, their performance at the 39th Golden Disc Awards has garnered 1.87 million views, the highest among all participating artists this year.
This anniversary project, carefully planned with Source Music over an extended period, includes not only new music and broadcast appearances but also an extensive concert tour. The group will kick off their celebrations with a three-day concert series titled 'GFRIEND 10th Anniversary 'Season of Memories'' at Olympic Hall in Seoul from January 17-19, where they will perform their numerous hits and commemorate their journey together.
The celebration will continue with an Asian tour in March, covering five cities including Osaka, Yokohama, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, and Taipei, demonstrating GFRIEND's sustained international appeal after a decade in the industry.
This successful reunion and chart performance demonstrate GFRIEND's lasting influence in K-pop, particularly significant given the competitive nature of the industry where many groups struggle to maintain relevance beyond their initial years.
