Hyun Bin Tops Korean Actor Brand Reputation Rankings Amid "Harbin" Anticipation

Hyun Bin has claimed the number one spot in Korea's latest monthly actor brand reputation rankings, according to the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute. The rankings, which analyzed over 158 million pieces of data related to 100 Korean film actors between December 14, 2024, and January 14, 2025, showed Hyun Bin's dramatic rise in public attention.

The "Crash Landing on You" star recorded a brand reputation index of 4,824,632, marking a remarkable 157.45% increase from his December figures. This surge is largely attributed to buzz surrounding his upcoming historical film "Harbin," where he portrays independence activist Ahn Jung-geun.

Lee Joon-hyuk secured the second position with a brand reputation score of 4,593,532, showing a 110.93% increase from December. Lee Je-hoon ranked third with 3,045,105 points, despite an 11.59% decrease from the previous month. Veteran actor Lee Byung-hun placed fourth with 3,042,003 points, while "Squid Game" star Lee Jung-jae rounded out the top five with 2,875,045 points, though his score showed a 41% decrease from December.

"Our analysis shows that keywords associated with Hyun Bin's brand include 'Harbin', 'Ahn Jung-geun', and achieved an impressive positive sentiment ratio of 84.03%," explained Koo Chang-hwan, director of the research institute.

The comprehensive monthly evaluation system, unique to Korea's entertainment industry, measures consumer behavior patterns through participation, media presence, communication, and community engagement metrics. For January 2025, the data showed an 11.21% increase in brand consumption, though brand communication saw a 19.76% decrease compared to the previous month.

Other notable actors in the top 10 include Kim Nam-gil, Jung Hae-in, Kim Hee-won, Gong Yoo, and Lee Dong-wook, demonstrating the dynamic nature of Korea's film industry and its star power.
