Rising star Nam Da-reum has been cast as the younger version of Song Joong-ki in JTBC's upcoming drama "My Youth," according to TenAsia's report on January 14. The emotional romance drama follows the story of Sunwoo-hae, who begins an ordinary life later than others, and Sung Je-yeon, who must disrupt his first love's peace for his success.
Nam, born in 2002, has built an impressive career playing the younger counterparts of Korea's top actors. After completing his mandatory military service in August 2023, Nam made a strong comeback in KBS's "Drama Special - The Inspector Is Coming," which earned him the Male Drama Special Award at the 2024 KBS Drama Awards. His performance in the series received critical acclaim, reaffirming his acting prowess.
"My Youth," set to broadcast this year, features a stellar cast including Song Joong-ki, Chun Woo-hee, Lee Joo-myung, and Seo Ji-hoon. Nam's participation as young Song Joong-ki is expected to add depth to the narrative, continuing his streak of memorable performances in significant productions.
